January 2011: Over the last 8 months I have been on an amazing advocacy journey. I currently work for a philanthropy charity in London, promoting philanthropy in the UK through giving events. Since graduating, I have continued writing for Ctrl.Alt.Shift , OXFAM and updating this blog on a range of global poverty issues. This has led me to interview amazing and inspiring people. In turn, I have been given the opportunity to represent young peoples view on International Development to Nick Clegg and Andrew Mitchell, feature in the UN Stand Up video and meet inspirational people such as Bill Gates and Bono. All my experiences motivate me to continue in highlighting the work achieved world-wide in tackling global poverty, as well as realising that there is still work to be done. I thank everyone that has enabled me to continue in my advocacy journey and I will continue to communicate in an inspiring way.
October 2010: So much has changed since I graduated in July. The update will be up soon.
July 2009: I am what I am and that is a student with much to learn, but also with much insight to give.
I go the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. Being a student of International Development appeared to be the most natural process for me. Having had in interest in Geography, then to Human Geography and on to the issues within International Development it seems like I am in the direction I saw my self going in. Having managed to complete 2 years of university my final year now awaits me. Yes, I am slightly nervous but I aim to rise up to the challenge and take it hands on.
I know that this year has a lot to give me and I aim to make the most out of it
.
Having being brought up in London the choice to move away from the vibrant capital to study was a hard choice. I am glad I made that choice as if not I would not be where I am today.
Life is simple, it is people that make it complicated. I think that as a person or individual we all have a certain element of control in our lives, therefore we should control/influence what we can to the maximum and the rest is out of our hands.
